Use on an appropriate firm, level floor. Engage the model’s braking or stabilising system before climbing; never move occupied steps.

An example of why the dimensions matter

The Inyathi MLH-8 lists a 2,000 mm platform, 2,850 mm overall height and a 1,569 × 930 mm footprint. Those three measurements answer different questions. Confirm the latest selected-model dimensions before ordering.

Reseller checklist: before recommending a model

Ask for the shelf/task height, user and carried load, floor, aisle width, door height and frequency of use. Check the rated load, handrails, platform enclosure, tread surface and model instructions. Plan how goods will be handled while keeping secure contact; assess other access equipment for bulky loads or prolonged work.

MH/MS two-step models: 440 mm platform height; 480 × 500 mm footprint. Choose MH-2 without castors or MS-2 with castors.
ML models: platform heights from 850 to 1660 mm.
MLH platform steps: selected models from 750 to 4000 mm platform height.

Measure your working space

Platform height is the height of the standing surface, not working reach. Overall height includes the structure above it. Footprint is the floor space occupied by the unit. Check doorways, overhead clearance and the full travel route.

Choose for the task, not height alone

Tell us the expected user and equipment load, floor conditions and task. Ask for the selected model’s load rating, parking method and instructions. Do not apply an Inyathi ladder rating to supplied Mounty steps.
